Make:
Model: Formula SAE - Hybrid
Engine: Kawasaki EX250
Year: 2009
State: PA

We actually placed first in the Drexel University Mechanical Engineering Senior Design Competition, for our Formula SAE Hybrid Racecar Design and Fabrication, and we placed second in the College of Engineering Competition.

During the official Formula Hybrid competition May 4-6, at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, we placed 3rd overall, out of 31 other universities. The competition results can be found here http://www.formula-hybrid.org/competition.php

As for the performance of the muffler, we were very pleased. We passed the sound test, with a reading of 107.5 dB, at 11,000 RPM, which is the test speed for our engine stroke. There is a picture attached showing the test procedure at the competition. Most of the other schools using the same Kawasaki EX250 engine were in the 108-110 dB range, with 110 dB being the maximum allowable.

The muffler installed easily, with simply slipping the inlet over the header pipe, and using an exhaust clap to secure it. We made a bracket off the frame with a pipe cradle and used hose clamps to support the body of the muffler. The engine seemed to perform really well with it installed. It sounds great and most importantly it passed sound inspection. We also took the time to polish the Aluminum body.

Thanks for all your help,
Matt Janisch, Drexel University Formula SAE Hybrid
